May 18, nine young women vied for the right to be the 2008 Miss Gilroy Garlic Festival.
The young women each gave a speech, performed a talent exhibition, and donned evening gowns to answer a surprise question. In the end, a panel of five judges chose Ariele Combs of Gilroy as the new queen.
The videos below are of the opening dance, the farewell song sung by 2007 Miss Gilroy Garlic Festival Cherise Gowan, the crowning of the queen and her court, and the talent, speech and evening gown competitions.
