Tax Men take air out of Racers' tires in title game

GILROY - Frank Vargas Taxes earned the Co-Rec B Softball League title Tuesday by defeating RSW Racing 12-9 at Christmas Hill Park.

Bre Vasquez went 3-for-5 and scored three runs as the Tax team finished the half at 6-0. Frank Vargas Taxes also won the first-half title.

Jerry Johnston homered for RSW Racing, the first-half Co-Rec C champion.

Hi-Energy Networks rallied past Team Hair FX 13-11 Tuesday to leave both teams in a tie for first at 5-1 along with Out to Play-Pro Electric.

Joseph Tovar hit two home runs and two singles, scoring four times for the Networks. AJ Martinez went 3-for-3 and Albert Vegas homered for Team Hair FX.

Anritsu struck for eight runs in the first inning and topped Rush Order 16-13. Andy Alarcon homered for the winners, Al Alvarado, Andrew Mokrus and Danny Pequeno for Rush Order.

The Big Kahunas trimmed El Fuego 17-9 as Spencer Straub ripped four hits. Marcelino Cortez hit three extra-base hits for El Fuego.

Team Hair FX claimed the first-half Men's EE title Wednesday at Christmas Hill by edging VFW Bingo 11-8.

Joel Torres went 3-for-3 with a sacrifice fly and Mike Kachel produced a double and two singles for the winners. George Espinosa scored three runs. Dustin Robinson keyed the VFW Bingo offense with a 4-for-4 effort, scoring three runs.

Self Made took the second-half Men's C crown with a 19-4 nod over Dirty Dozen in a tie-breaker game Monday.

Ricky Gonzalez hit two homers, Ruben Chavez one as Self Made moved into the best 2-of-3 Championship Series opposite CenCal AutoBody. Greg Lucio scored four runs. Art Naranjo went 3-for-3 for Dirty Dozen. The Dozen will face Pacific Coast Bail Bonds in the championship series.

Daniel DeLeon went 5-for-5 with a sacrifice fly to lift Team Guerrero past Frank Vargas Taxes 26-9 in Men's BB play Monday. Tomas Carrillo went 4-for-5 for the losers.
