 By Dispatch Sports Staff

GILROY - Four players from Anchorpoint Christian's softball team received First-Team honors from the Mission Trail Athletic League - Coastal Division, while junior Adrianna Osuna was named the league's Most Valuable Player.

Ellen Pearce wrapped up her Lady warriors career with a banner senior season (.595 batting average, six home runs) on top of maintaining a 4.0 GPA in her final semester. She also received the Distinguished Founder Award from Anchorpoint. Pearce was joined on the First Team by senior Kristi Osuna, (.395 average), who will be attending Gavilan College in the fall, junior pitcher Danielle Kinoshita and senior Shayna Osuna (.445 average, four home runs), who will be attending Bethany where she will continue playing softball.

Adrianna Osuna's bat was better than all others, as she hit .628 to go with five home runs. She was voted MVP by four of the five coaches in the league. She also received the Scholar Award by maintaining above a 3.9 GPA.

Honorable Mentions from the club included sophomore Brooke Shrull and senior Ashley Bates. Chelsey Urbanski who carried last year's highest batting average for the Lady Warriors, suffered an injury keeping her from First Team honors this year, but she did receive Honorable Mention.
