Big Kahunas zip past Hi-Energy

GILROY - The Big Kahunas are 2-0 atop the Co-Rec C Softball League after defeating Hi-Energy Networks 11-3 Sunday at Las Animas Park.

Julie Berggren drove in three Kahuna runs with a double, single and grounder. Vicki Groppe and Brett Scott each went 3-for-4. Tony Smith went 2-for-3 and scored two Hi-Energy Network (2-1) runs.

RSW Racing moved to 2-0 by topping Out to Play-Pro Electric 11-6. Marco Lopez homered and tripled for the Racers. Joel Garcia scored twice for the losers.

Team Hair FX is 2-1 after a 14-10 nod over El Fuego. Ryan Boyd went 4-for-5 Jason Mesa 3-for-4 for Team Hair FX. Chris Hatch homered and Francisco Orozco went 4-for-4 for El Fuego.

KC Adams homered and Anthony Corral went 3-for-3 to lift 3-0 Frank Vargas Taxes past Rush Order 12-3 in Co-Rec B play Sunday. Frank Tomasetti homered for Rush Order.

Chris Adame homered and scored four runs to lead 2-1 Gaeta's Ballers past Blackout Window Tinting 17-11. Jeff Wong lined two doubles and a single for Blackout.

Tax Systems (2-0) leads the Men's D League after an 18-5 victory over Victoria's Italian Deli Friday at Christmas Hill Park.

Daniel Hernandez hit two home runs, a double and single for the Taxmen. Danny Garcia and Moises Leonor each went 4-for-4. Manuel Juarez managed three Victoria's Deli hits.

The Bomb Squad surprised Los Cochinos 18-13 behind David Espinoza's five RBI.

Espinoza hit a three-run home run in the first as the Bombers chipped away at a 5-0 Los Cochinos lead. Espinoza added a two-run single as the Squad erased a 10-9 deficit with nine runs in the fifth inning. Daniel Espinoza aided the rally with a two-run triple.

Chris Adame, Juan Arias and Jesus Begines hit Los Cochinos homers.

Bike Center is 2-1 after outlasting the Hit Men 11-8. Mike Catangay plated four Biker runs. Henry Quistian went 4-for-4 for the Hit Men.

Anritsu crhaged to 3-0 atop Men's EE with a 14-11 win Friday over VFW Bingo.

Ben Hartshorn used a homer and two doubles to drive in five Anritsu runs. Stephen Jeske belted a two-run homer for Bingo. Gary Tognetti went 3-for-4.

TJ Loebig's two-out RBI-double in the bottom of the eighth carried the OG's past Heinzen Manufacturing 6-5. Pat Moran homered and doubled for the OG's. James Dent tripled and singled for Heinzen.

Robie Kramer cracked a homer, two triples and a single in a 16-6 Good Ole Boys win over Bad News Block. Jeff Speno went 4-for-5 for the winners, Josh Flores 4-for-4 for the Block.

The Hit Crew reached 2-0 in the Men's E League with a 9-6 decision over the Assassins Thursday at Las Animas.

Marc Vegas hit two homers, Chris Wong and Tyler Maslanka one each for the Crew. Ivan Acevedo went 3-for-3 with two RBI for the Assassins.

Josh Torres went 4-for-5 to pace Pacific Coast Bail Bonds by SVCC Sons of Thunder 16-1. Joe Lopez went 2-for-2 for the Sons of Thunder.

KC Adams powered a homer, triple and double as New Hope Community Church stopped the Borrachos 15-12. Armando Uribe managed a double and two singles for the Borrachos.
