Draeger Construction upends Ms. BeHaving

Draeger Construction earned the second-half Women's League title Wednesday with a 9-4 win over Ms. BeHaving at Las Animas Park.

Draeger and Ms. BeHaving each went 5-1 in the second half, forcing the tie-breaker. Draeger Construction opens the best 2-of-3 Championship Series against the Mean Girlz Tuesday July 15 at 7:40pm at Christmas Hill Park.

The Builders pushed across six runs in the bottom of the second inning for a 6-1 advantage.

Consecutive singles from Vicki Velasquez, Joyce Ibarra and Lauri Dixon ignited the rally. Cory Casillas added a two-run single.

Velasquez provided a double as Draeger scored once in the third, then singled and scored in a two-run fifth.

Bre Vasquez went 3-for-3 for the winners. Caroline Martinez went 3-for-4, Kathy Bennett 2-for-4 for Ms. BeHaving.

California Overhead outlasted Walton & Sons Masonry 23-17 to take the second-half Men's D title Wednesday at Las Animas.

Walton & Sons opened the two-game tie-breaker series with a 20-10 decision over Gamers In Control.

Jason Mesa scored four runs in a 5-for-5 effort for the Masonry. Tyler Maslanka roped four hits and Marc Vegas homered for Walton & Sons. AJ Martinez, James Osaki and Ernesto Salinas each went 3-for-4 for the Gamers.

Walton & Sons struck for six runs in the first inning to lead Overhead 6-2. Walton & Sons held a 12-7 lead after four innings. Jason Trujillo and Hector Gallardo each hit two singles as California Overhead posted seven runs in the fifth. Mesa's two-run single pulled Walton & Sons even. Rick Trujillo's RBI-double helped Overhead take a 17-14 lead in the sixth.

Art Tomasetti went 6-for-6 for the winners. Kurt Gitmed homered in a 4-for-4 showing for Walton & Sons.

California Overhead begins in the Men's D series against the VFW Vets on Tuesday July 15 at 8:50pm at Christmas Hill. Walton & Sons meets either the Chippendales or Bomb Squad on Tuesday at 6:30pm at Las Animas in E play.

Team Strike claimed the second-half Co-Rec C League title Sunday with a 24-4 nod over Anritsu.

Ricardo Lopez hit a grand slam in a 4-for-4 performance and Joel Lopez added a two-run shot for the winners. Cesar Lopez went 2-for-2 for Anritsu.

Team Strike opens the Championship Series against Team HJ-FX on Monday July 14 at 6:30pm at Las Animas.

Blackout Window Tinting finished the second half at 4-2 with a 7-3 decision over ifly. Danny Rubio slapped a home run, triple and single for the Tinters. Joe Tovar homered and doubled for ifly.
