Jammers take third at USBA

(Not pictured is Coach Kort Jensen) |  |  |  |  | Photo by: Special to The Dispatch |  |  |  |  |  |  |  |  |  | The South County Jammers 15-and-under team recently took third place in the 16-and-under division of the USBA West Coast Regional Championships.The Jammers played with just eight players, but all eight players contributed and played good team ball, coach Duane Ross said, adding that defense, rebounding and offensive ball movement were the keys to the Jammers' success. "[We] took good shots, shot a high shooting percentage, (all) while disrupting their opponents offensive rhythm," Ross said. After losing the first game to Seaside Select 69-44, the Jammers bounced back strong and defeated Santa Teresa Elite 64-58 and then Union City Raptors 62-44. The Jammers play their next tournament in Santa Cruz. The Jammers are sponsored by Kent Construction of Gilroy.
