Police rely on public for alerts to tagging around Gilroy
Updated: February 27, 2015 - 4:42 pm

What's with all the new graffiti in Gilroy? Last week someone tagged the walls on the new KB Homes property on Luchessa. It got cleaned up and two days later it reappeared—and worse. All the way home toward Gavilan there was graffiti on new round-about rocks, on Thomas Road then on Mesa. Not cool. We moved to Gilroy to avoid stuff like this.

Turn signal timing needs fixing at First and Wren
Updated: February 24, 2015 - 10:58 am

This question is in regards to the traffic signal at the intersection of First and Wren. When driving west on First Street, and entering the left turn lane, and the signal is red. Cars waiting. The green arrow comes on for the cars to proceed. The signal seems to have short time span for cars making left turns. On regular occasions, only four cars are able to clear the intersection before the amber arrow comes on. I have seen as many as three additional cars attempt to clear the intersection. Can more time be added to the left turn signal before a nasty accident happens?

No running on CHS track until proper signage is put in place
Updated: February 11, 2015 - 3:41 pm

Could you please try to help me get the gate opened at Christopher High School so runners/joggers can use the track during non-school hours? What’s the deal, we pay taxes! Don Christopher doesn’t own the thing, he donated it and we paid for the land, maintenance, etc. This community should support people who want to stay in shape and need the resources to do it. Running on a padded track is best for runners/joggers. It saves our knees.

Rumors about roundabout tree are incorrect
Updated: February 11, 2015 - 3:41 pm

Is it true that a tree in the roundabout by Las Animas School cost the City of Gilroy $100,000 as we have heard recently? Thank you.

Streetlights on Murray Avenue about ready to light the darkness
Updated: January 22, 2015 - 9:49 am

I’m having a problem getting five streetlights on Murray Avenue lit. There are five streetlights that have been out since March. I’ve talked to Henry and Joe and they told us by October it would be done, and they still haven’t done it. The last thing they said was that it was political. I don’t know what that means. Maybe you can help me.

Some out of luck regarding street lamps
Updated: February 11, 2015 - 3:41 pm

I thought I saw something about crosswalks or lights. Mine is on Forest and Martin streets and the reason is the poor visibility at that intersection, the amount of people trying to cross—especially at Eliot—and the increase of traffic on Forest over the last five years due to development. Thanks.
