Passport Weekend features local wineries

Rediscover the wineries of Santa Clara Valley during Passport Weekend from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Cost: $30. Tickets can be purchased at participating wineries. Tarantula Festival and Barbecue

Henry W. Coe State Park will hold its annual Tarantula Fest and Barbecue from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at 9100 E. Dunne Ave. There will be live music and a raffle and silent auction to benefit the park. Activities include nature walks, displays and talks about tarantulas, snakes and other park wildlife, children's activities and crafts, a fire engine, a fascinating perspective on how the park is recovering from the 2008 fire, and information about park closures and the prospects for keeping Coe Park open in the long term. The cost is $6.25 to $17 depending on meal choice, along with $8 to park, ($7 for seniors 62 and older) Details:

Renaissance Faire

Enjoy more than 150 craft booths, rides and activities during the Northern California Renaissance Faire from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m Saturdays and Sundays through Oct. 16 at Casa de Fruta in Hollister. This weekend's theme is "Pirate Invasion." Folk band Culann's Hounds performs at 6 p.m. Saturday. Cost: $25 or $35 for a weekend pass. Details:

San Benito County Fair

The San Benito County Fair continues through Sunday at Bolado Park in Tres Pinos. Gates are open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. today and Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday. There will be mud racing, truck pulls, wine tasting, rides and more. Details:

'MOMologues' comedy at Lizarran

Limelight Actors Theater presents "The MOMologues: The Original Comedy about Motherhood" from at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays through Oct. 8 at Lizarran Tapas Restaurant, 7400 Monterey Road. Follow the journey of four mothers and their experiences with the first chapters of motherhood – attempts at conception, pregnancy, labor and delivery and adjusting to life with a newborn. Cost: $18.
