Sheriff's blotter: 18-year-old caught driving with weed on wrong side of road

Driving on the wrong side of the road

Jose Aaron Ferreyra-Calder, 18, of Watsonville, 6:15 a.m. Nov. 20, near Hecker Pass Highway and Burchell Road for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and driving on the wrong side of the road.

Under the influence of a controlled substance

Johnny Morales Jr., 27, of Gilroy, 10:01 p.m. Sunday, near First Street and Wayland Avenue.

Erik Beck Laursen, 37, of Aptos, 12 p.m. Friday, on the 12600 block of Harding Drive in San Martin for possession of a controlled substance and being under the influence of a controlled substance.

Pavlo Torres, 26, of Gilroy, 3:16 p.m. Nov. 22, near Seventh and Hanna streets for probation violation and being under the influence of a controlled substance.

Joseph Michael Ojeda, 46, of Gilroy, 11:49 p.m. Nov. 21, on the 7000 block of Monterey Road.

Noe Francisco Cortes, 20, of Watsonville, 1:21 a.m. Nov. 21, on the 1200 block of Hecker Pass Highway for possession of cocaine and being under the influence of a controlled substance.

Possession of a methamphetamine pipe

Jesse Rosales, 38, of Gilroy, 3:16 p.m. Nov. 22, near Seventh and Hanna streets.

Juan Carlos Parra, 34, of San Jose, 2:09 a.m. Nov. 18, near Leavesley Road and Marcella Avenue.

False identification to a peace officer

Doreen Lee Miller, 35, of Gilroy, 9:08 a.m. Thursday, near 10th Street and Monterey Road for giving false identification and on a warrant after police detained her for drinking in public.

Forgery

Jose Orozco Elias, 30, of Gilroy, 2 p.m. Nov. 18, at Gavilan College, 5055 Santa Teresa Blvd., for forgery and identity theft after he used three people's social security numbers to enroll at school.

Possession of cocaine

Juan Carlos Parra, 34, of San Jose, 2:09 a.m. Nov. 18, near Leavesley Road and Marcella Avenue.

Other sheriff's incidents
Recovered stolen vehicle

A 1995 blue Honda Accord stolen out of Gilroy was found near Highway 25 and Bolsa Road, 8:30 a.m. Friday, with its battery, radio, speakers, left rear tire and spare tire stolen.

Vehicle burglary

Electronic equipment, credit cards, a cell phone, a purse and a television were stolen from a 2007 gold Honda Odyssey parked in Lot H at Gavilan College, 5055 Santa Teresa Blvd., between 10:05 and 10:45 a.m. Nov. 21.

Misdemeanor vandalism

A woman's mailbox was smashed on the 11000 block of Foothill Avenue, between 5 p.m. Nov. 18 and 10 a.m. Nov. 19.

Felony vandalism

A black Nissan Titan in a parking lot at Gavilan College, 5055 Santa Teresa Blvd., was scratched for about 24 inches, costing the victim about $500 to repair, between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Nov. 16.
