Police Incidents: Someone was cited for having a shopping cart

Petty theft

Someone stole the rear license plate from a vehicle parked on Silacci Way, between 6:30 a.m. and 5:10 p.m. Jan. 7.

Someone reported the rear license plate of a 2006 Chevrolet parked on East 10th Street stolen, 1 p.m. Thursday.

Someone stole the rear license plate from a white 1999 Toyota Corolla parked on Arroyo Circle, between 8 a.m. Thursday and 12 p.m. Friday.

Someone took a light green surfboard and stainless mini fridge from the back of a 2006 red Toyota Tacoma pickup truck parked on Taryn Lane, near Welburn Avenue, between 3 p.m. Jan. 7 and 11 p.m. Thursday.

Someone entered an unlocked 1993 Toyota parked on Redwood Lane and took a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses valued at $30, between 8 p.m. Friday and 7:56 a.m. Saturday.

Someone reported that someone had entered an unlocked 1989 Chevrolet parked on Redwood Lane and took some coins from the car's console, 7:27 a.m. Saturday.

Someone entered an unlocked 1997 Jeep parked on Redwood Lane and took an unknown amount of coins from the car's console, between 6 p.m. Friday and 8:18 a.m. Saturday.

Someone was seen inside someone else's unlocked 1999 white Ford Explorer on Rosanna Street, 6:10 p.m. Saturday. The owner of the car chased the person, who dropped his belongings but still managed to get away with the owner's sunglasses.

Someone stole two 18-packs of canned Budweiser beer on Church Street, 6:03 a.m. Monday.

Someone stole two 12-packs of Modelo beer on Leavesley Road, 7:05 p.m. Monday.

Vandalism

Someone cut a decorative cactus on Carmel Street, between 3 p.m. Jan. 7 and 10:30 a.m. Thursday.

Graffiti

There was a report of graffiti done on the 7400 block of Eigleberry Street, 5 p.m. Sept. 7.

Fraud

A woman on Oak Brook Way cancelled a second cell phone line on her account. Someone then reactivated it without her permission, 5 p.m. Nov. 28.

Stolen vehicle

A 1992 tan Ford Ranger was stolen from Chestnut Street, between 1:30 and 11:30 a.m. Jan. 7.

A 2006 Chevrolet Silverado was reported stolen from Redwood Lane near Westwood Drive, 8 a.m. Saturday. The car was recovered in Morgan Hill shortly after the initial report.

A gold 1992 Honda Accord was reported stolen from Church Street, 8:41 a.m. Monday.

Assault

Someone reported a resident in a motel room on Monterey Street grabbed her behind as she was leaving the room after vacuuming it, 12:30 p.m. Jan. 7. The man has not been located or identified yet.

Someone slashed someone else's neck with a sharp object, causing a six-inch laceration on No Name Uno, 2 a.m. Sunday. The person was treated at Saint Louise Regional Hospital and released.

A woman slapped and spit on her ex-boyfriend on Farrell Avenue, 9:41 a.m. Monday. The ex-boyfriend had a half-inch laceration to his lip. The woman left before the police arrived.

Found property

A replica .45 ACP BB gun was turned into the Salvation Army store on Camino Arroyo, 4:56 p.m. Thursday. The BB gun was booked into evidence for safekeeping.

Animal

An injured dog was reported on Mantelli Drive, 3 p.m. Friday.

Bike theft

Someone reported a BMX bike stolen from the library parking lot on Rosanna Street, between 2:50 and 5:30 p.m. Friday.

Grand theft

Someone entered the Sunglass Hut on Arroyo Circle and took four Ray-Ban sunglasses, totaling $436, 7:55 p.m. Friday.

Someone stole an iPod Classic, a wallet with ID cards, $6 in cash and a $15 Visa debit card from an unlocked white 2003 Chrysler parked in the driveway of a residence on Princevalle Street, between 5 and 9:30 p.m. Friday. One of the stolen credit cards was later charged for $100 in purchases without permission.

Auto burglary

Someone entered an unlocked 1991 Honda parked on Redwood Lane and took a wallet that contained a $25 Applebee's gift card, between 10 p.m. Jan 9 and 7:27 a.m. Saturday.

Missing juvenile

A girl was reported missing from Fairview Drive, 9 p.m. Friday. The girl is an habitual runaway

Gilroy municipal code

Someone was cited on Monterey Street for having a shopping cart, 2:26 p.m. Saturday

Residential burglary

Someone entered a vacant house on Rosanna Street and took several items, between 5:30 p.m. Jan. 5 and 8:30 a.m. Friday. Among the items stolen and damaged was a side garage door, a bench grinding wheel, a tractor toy, a hole digger, a red rake and copper piping.

Someone entered a residence on Poppyfield Street through the unlocked side door and stole more than $12,685 worth of jewelry, a laptop, an Apple iPod Nano and a Nextel cell phone, between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. Saturday.

Counterfeit

A counterfeit $50 bill was used to purchase goods on Arroyo Circle between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Friday.

Injury accident

A car hit with two pedestrians on Rosanna Street near West Sixth Street, 5:47 p.m. Monday.
