Police Incidents: Stolen iTouch, cell phone, iBook and $405

Auto burglary

Someone broke the passenger's side window to a blue 2001 Ford Focus parked on First Street and stole a laptop that was lying on the front passenger seat, 6:49 a.m. Jan. 1. The Gateway laptop is valued at $1,000.

Someone smashed the window of a car parked on Santa Teresa Boulevard, 8:15 a.m. Friday, and stole a Coach purse with its contents - $405 in cash, a cell phone, an Apple iTouch, checkbooks, sunglasses and a silver Apple iBook laptop.

Someone broke into a 2005 Ford pickup truck parked on the 7200 block of Rosanna Street, between 11 p.m. Friday and 11:30 a.m. Saturday, and took a wallet that contained two bank cards. There was then a later unauthorized charge of $1,400 to one of the cards.

Someone broke into the rear driver's side window of a white 2004 Volkswagen Passat and took an HP Pavilion laptop computer, between 3 and 5 p.m. Monday.

Non-injury accident

Two vehicles collided on Leavesley Road and Murray Avenue, 10:52 a.m. Friday. One driver was unlicensed and cited. His vehicle was impounded.

Someone broke the rear passenger's door window on Arroyo Circle with an object to gain entry into the locked gold 2005 Toyota. The person took a Chanel purse and left the scene, between 4 and 6:30 p.m. Sunday.

Injury accident

A minor injury traffic collision occurred on San Ysidro Avenue, in front of Home Depot, 12:17 p.m. Friday.

A car collided with a bicyclist near Leavesley Road and Murray Avenue, 10:35 a.m. Saturday. The collision occurred at a very low speed and the bicyclist suffered only minor abrasions and refused medical attention at the scene.

Found property

Someone found a jar of pennies at El Roble Elementary School, 12 p.m. Friday.

Someone turned in a wallet to the police after finding it on the levee near Miller Avenue and Uvas Park Drive, 1:30 p.m. Friday. The wallet contained $640 in cash and miscellaneous personal cards.

Petty theft

Someone stole a purse, wallet, a check and $30 from an unlocked vehicle on Lupine Court, 9 p.m. Jan. 1.

The rear license plate of a 2008 white Chevrolet was stolen on Obata Way between 9 a.m. Jan. 1 and 7:50 a.m. Monday.

The rear license plate was taken off a 2006 blue Toyota while parked in San Jose, 2:16 p.m. Monday.

Identity theft

A woman on Church Street reported that someone used her personal information to open several bank accounts, 7:21 p.m. Friday. She did not give anyone permission to use her information to open an account.

Assault

A husband and wife got into a verbal argument on Hirasaki Avenue, 9:51 p.m. Friday. During the argument, the woman threw a soft plastic cup at her husband. Her husband called the police. The case has been referred to the District Attorney's office for review.

A woman was in her house on Orchard Drive, 12 p.m. Friday, when another person came home and accused her of using drugs. The assailant then choked her, slapped her and held her down on the bed while talking with her about using drugs.

Residential burglary

Someone entered an open garage on Williamsburg Way and took a set of car keys, a pair of sunglasses and a printer, between 8 p.m. Dec. 29 and 12:23 p.m. Dec. 30.

Grand theft

A backup portable generator was taken from the cell phone tower of a Sprint/Nextel lot on the 5700 block of Obata Way between 10 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. Saturday. The lock on the gate was broken and someone attached the portable trailer to a vehicle and towed it from the site.

Someone's wallet was stolen while shopping at Target on Camino Arroyo, between 7:50 and 8:20 p.m. Sunday. The wallet contained six credit cards and $560 in cash.

A black man entered BVI-Solstice on Leavesley Road, 8:18 p.m. Saturday, and stole four pairs of sunglasses. The total loss for the store was in excess of $500.

Fraud

Someone opened an account with the Florida Power and Light Company using someone else's social security number. The person said this has been going on for 15 years. This was reported at 12 p.m. Jan. 1, on Desert Bloom Place.

Child abuse

A mother was reported to have hit one of her children with a brush on the shoulder and two others with a belt on Monterey Street, 2:21 p.m. Sunday.

Commercial burglary

Someone smashed the window out of a classroom at El Roble Elementary School, Dec. 31, and stole a Versa laptop in an Eddie Bauer computer bag.

Vandalism

Someone broke four glass windows and one school bus glass window and kicked in a door on Swanston Lane, between 5 p.m. Dec. 20 and 6 a.m. Monday.

Someone threw a rock through a window on Murray Avenue and left the area, 5:53 p.m. Monday.

A vacant house on Sage Hill Drive was spray painted and had a window broken, 1:45 p.m. Monday.
