Sheriff's blotter: Man found drunk, throwing bottles full of rocks at ducks

Sheriff's arrests
Possession of drug paraphernalia

Ernest Edward Quinones, 51, of San Martin, 3:27 p.m. Sept. 25, on the 13300 block of Depot Avenue in San Martin.

Petty theft

Mario Humberto Gomez-Leal, 22, of Prunedale, 2 p.m. Sept. 25, near Bolsa and Bloomfield roads for petty theft, vandalism and trespassing with intent to injure property. Police found him trying to hide a pole pruner that he used to cut willow trees to sell in floral arrangements. He damaged a 70-foot section of willow trees.

Public intoxication

Adam Matthew Leveque, 28, of Tres Pinos, 2:49 p.m. Sept. 24, on the 5000 block of Santa Teresa Boulevard. He was found throwing bottles filled with rocks at ducks.

Other sheriff's incidents
Firearm turned in for safekeeping

A man who resides on the 14400 block of Murphy Avenue in San Martin turned in a Kimber Arms .45 handgun, 4 p.m. Sept. 29, to comply with a temporary restraining order.

Grand theft

Four golf carts worth $24,945 were stolen, between 9 p.m. Sept. 28 and 11 a.m. Sept. 29, on the 10000 block of Pacheco Pass Highway in Hollister.

Automobile theft

A man's 1992 white Oldsmobile Cutlass was stolen, between 12 p.m. Aug. 31 and 10:13 a.m. Sept. 29, on the 10800 block of Ashcroft Court. The man took his car to be repaired and never heard back from the man who is repairing his car.

Residential burglary

A jewelry box, several pieces of jewelry and a folding knife, worth $4,200, were stolen, between 8:40 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. Sept. 28, from a house near Monterey Highway and Palm Avenue in Morgan Hill.

Stolen license plate

A trailer license plate was stolen, between 3:30 p.m. Sept. 26 and 11:50 a.m. Sept. 27, on the 13400 block of Center Avenue in San Martin.

Identity theft

A San Martin man's social security number was used without his permission to obtain jobs in San Francisco, between 12 a.m. Jan. 1, 2006 and 2:49 p.m. Sept. 26.

Grand theft of poultry

Fourteen show turkeys, worth $1,100, were stolen, between 9:45 p.m. Aug. 25 and 9:45 a.m. Aug. 26, on the 12300 block of Columbet Avenue in San Martin. The turkeys roamed the property freely and were very friendly, sheriff's deputies said.

Recovered stolen vehicle

A 2000 blue Honda Civic stolen out of San Jose was found, 10:30 p.m. Sept. 25, near Maple and Columbet avenues in San Martin.

Petty theft

A cell phone was stolen from a Morgan Hill woman and used to access the Internet, between 12 a.m. Aug. 4 and 8 a.m. Sept. 25.

Assualt

A woman was attacked when she entered her old residence, which is currently vacant and pending sale, on the 15200 block of Llagas Avenue in San Martin, 8:30 p.m. Sept. 24.
