Sheriff's blotter: Man receives call that his head is going to be ripped off

Sheriff's arrests
Battery

Reynaldo Coronel, 22, of Gilroy, 9:05 a.m. Sunday, on the 2100 block of Frazier Lake Road. Coronel struck a male victim with a closed fist.

Possession of drug paraphernalia

Alicia Arias Garcia, 30, of Lancaster, 8:37 a.m. Sunday, on the 900 block of Southside Avenue for possession of a controlled substance, being under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Leonard Rodriguez, 39, of Gilroy, 8:37 a.m. Sunday, on the 900 block of Southside Avenue.

Parole violation

Jose Carlos Cid, 30, of Morgan Hill, 10:35 a.m. Thursday, on the 13000 block of Harding Avenue in San Martin, for parole violation, being under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of burglary tools.

Under the influence of a controlled substance

Evonna Evajeanne Applewhite, 33, of Gilroy 8:54 a.m. Aug. 20, near Bolsa and Monterey roads.

Stolen vehicle

A trailer, a 1995 white GMC pick-up truck, a generator and various power tools were stolen, between 5:20 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. Friday, from the 13500 block of Monterey Road in San Martin. The keys had been left in the truck's ignition but it was inside a locked fence, which had the lock cut off.

Vehicle burglary

A car stereo was stolen from a 2000 white Honda Civic, between 6 p.m. Aug. 20 and 5:30 a.m. Thursday, near Arizona Circle and Southside Avenue. The car was locked but the passenger window was open.

Identity theft

Two credit card accounts were opened using a false name, between 8 a.m. May 8 and 5 p.m. July 19. The victim, who lives on the 100 block of Ogier Avenue in Morgan Hill, closed both accounts when she was notified of the fraudulent accounts.

Grand theft

Twenty-three pieces of aluminum irrigation pipe worth $1,500 were stolen, between 6 p.m. Aug. 20 and 7 a.m. Thursday, near U.S. 101 and Sergeant's Crossing.

Engine and vehicle parts worth $12,000 were taken from a 1966 white Chevy pick-up truck, between 12 p.m. Feb. 21 and 6:30 a.m. Aug. 16, on the 12500 block of Watsonville Road in Morgan Hill.

Residential burglary

The window of a trailer was pried open and the inside was vandalized, between 5:30 p.m. July 30 and 7:30 a.m. Thursday, on the 14700 block of Starswept Lane in San Martin. A small television was also stolen from the trailer.

Recovered stolen vehicle

A 1995 white Mercury Villager stolen out of Morgan Hill was found, 5 p.m. Aug. 20, on the 11400 block of Carls Court in San Martin.

Obscene phone call

A man received a phone call from an ex-coworker who told the man he was going to rip the man's head off, among other threats, 2:30 p.m. Aug. 20, on the 17500 block of Chesbro Lake Drive in Morgan Hill.
