Police charge two with rape
Jul 17, 2008

Police arrested two men earlier this week for separate, ongoing rapes within families, one involving a victim younger than 14 years old.

Police arrested Moises Fuentes, 50, of the 800 block of Chesapeake Place, at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday for sodomy and oral copulation with a child younger than 14. David Cook, 54, of the 1000 block of Byers Street, was arrested Monday afternoon for rape and penetration by a foreign object.

The cases are unrelated, but similar in the fact that both the alleged rapists victimized family members, said Gilroy Police Department Jim Gillio. He added that both cases had been ongoing, multi-year problems within the families and was not an emergency response.
