Sheriff's arrests
Unlawful possession of fireworks

Patrick Ryan Stenshoel, 24, of San Martin, 2:37 a.m. June 7, near Santa Teresa Boulevard and Mesa Avenue.

Assault with a deadly weapon

Phillip Angeles, 51, of San Martin, 4:40 p.m. June 6, on the 15000 block of Columbet Avenue in San Martin.

Grand theft

Rion Redko, 18, and Ivan Redko, 19, both of Hollister, 8 p.m. June 5, on the 10000 block of Pacheco Pass Highway after they took a golf cart without permission and returned it with a damaged tire.

Unlicensed driver

Jose Quiros Contreras, 27, of Gilroy, 9:21 a.m. June 5, near Vickery and Wren avenues for using a false alien card and being an unlicensed driver.

Possession of a controlled substance

Elizabeth Elaine Gonzalez, 29, of Gilroy, 7:52 a.m. June 1, near Monterey Road and Ronan Avenue for possession of a controlled substance and furnishing drugs to a minor.

Drunk in public

Jose Valenzuela Saucedo, 26, of San Jose, 12:30 a.m. June 1, on the 8600 block of Marcella Avenue.

Public intoxication

Jorge Mandujano, 22, of Gilroy, 12 a.m. May 1, near Gilman and Holsclaw roads.

John Chavez, 46, of San Jose, 11 p.m. May 22, near First Street and Wayland Lane.

Cultivation of marijuana

A female juvenile was cited and released into the custody of her mother after sheriffs found 16 marijuana plants growing under fluorescent lights in a locked shed, 1 p.m. May 28, on the 14800 block of Llagas Road in San Martin.

Under the influence of a controlled substance

Dion Brawley, 40, of Santa Nella, 11:37 a.m. May 27, near Las Animas and Murray avenues for being under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Leon Sanders, 21, of Santa Nella, 11:37 a.m. May 27, near Las Animas and Murray avenues for being under the influence of a controlled substance and giving false identification to a police officer.

Jose Jiminez, 28, of San Jose, 2 a.m. June 17, on the 500 block of South Street in San Martin.

Selling alcohol to a minor

Pankaijlal Shah, 61, of San Jose, 7:45 p.m. May 23, near Monterey Road and Chester Street in San Martin.

Other Sheriff incidents
Auto burglary

Four vehicles - a 1992 black Nissan Maxima, a 1996 black Honda Accord, a 1999 green Kia Sephia and a 2008 white Mazda 3 Series - were burglarized, between 8:30 p.m. June 6 and 8:20 a.m. June 7, near Monterey Highway and Roosevelt Avenue in San Martin.

A bottle of cologne and $500 in cash were stolen from a 1996 black Honda, between 9 p.m. May 28 and 11 a.m. May 29, on the 13500 block of Monterey Road in San Martin. The vehicle had been locked but no windows were broken.

A 1992 Ford was broken into and the contents were shuffled through but nothing was taken, between 8 a.m. May 28 and 5 p.m. May 30, at the Monterey Highway Apartments on Roosevelt Avenue in San Martin.

The front and rear passenger side tires of a 1996 red Dodge Avenger were slashed, between 10 p.m. May 29 and 9 a.m. May 30, on the 13500 block of Monterey Road in San Martin. The stereo was taken after locked car was entered. The contents of the vehicle appeared to have been searched.

Three vehicles - a 1992 white Ford van, a 1994 blue Saturn, and a 1009 white Ford F150 - were broken into, between 1 p.m. April 28 and 1 p.m. May 31, at the Monterey Highway Apartments on Roosevelt Avenue in San Martin.

Two vehicles were searched but nothing was taken, about 12:30 a.m. June 15, on the 13500 block of Monterey Highway in San Martin.

Found property

An ATM card was turned into the South County Sheriff's Office at 80 Highland Ave., in San Martin, 9:15 a.m. June 6.

Grand theft

Seven baby goats, valued at $125 each, were stolen, between 2 p.m. June 1 and 2:30 p.m. June 5, from the 8900 block of Burchell Road.

Battery powered tools valued at $1,100 were stolen from the back of a 2007 white Ford F150, between 9 p.m. May 29 and 6 a.m. May 30, on the 600 block of West Edmundson Avenue in Morgan Hill.

Two people claiming to be carpet cleaners showed up at a woman's home on the 11800 block of Columbet Avenue between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. May 29 to clean her carpet for $49. They claimed to have used a better solution and charged her $443, which she paid.

Residential burglary

Force was used to gain entry into a residence on the 700 block of Fisher Avenue in Morgan Hill, between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. June 4. Two guns, miscellaneous clothing and money all totaling $400 were stolen.

Vandalism

The rear passenger side tire of a 1996 Plymouth Voyager was slashed, between 5 p.m. May 29 and 8 a.m. May 30, on the 13500 block of Monterey Road in San Martin.

The rear passenger side tire of a 1991 white Ford Taurus was slashed, between 10 p.m. May 29 and 9 a.m. May 30, on the 13500 block of Monterey Road in San Martin.

The rear driver's side window of a 1992 white Honda Civic was smashed, between 8 a.m. June 1 and 8 a.m. June 2, on the 12100 block of New Avenue in San Martin.

A mailbox was stolen, between 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. June 3 from the 500 block of Church Road in San Martin.

A large gate was damaged, between 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. June 1, on the 12400 block of Merriman Lane in Morgan Hill.

Recovered stolen vehicle

A 1990 brown Honda Accord stolen out of Gilroy was found, 4:45 a.m. June 4, near San Ysidro and Leavesley avenues at the Gilroy Premium Outlets.

A 1984 gold Nissan 300ZX stolen out of Hollister was found, 4:20 p.m. June 3, Near Bannister and New avenues.

A 2002 white Nissan Altima stolen out of Gilroy was found, 10 a.m. June 1, near Dunlap Avenue and Holsclaw Road.

A vehicle stolen out of Vallejo was found, 10:15 p.m. May 23, near Oak Street and Llagas Avenue in San Martin.

Battery

A female caregiver at a facility for mentally challenged people was attacked by a 20-year-old white male with paranoid schizophrenia, 7:30 a.m. June 3, on the 2400 block Bridle Path Avenue. The victim sustained bumps and bruises and the suspect was not arrested.

A man was hit by a stranger when they got into an argument about moving a parked car, 2 p.m. May 31, on the 7100 block of Croy Road in Morgan Hill. The victim did not know his attacker.

Bomb threat

Anchor Point Christian Academy on the 2200 block of Pacheco Pass Highway received a phone call from a male with a deep voice at 8:05 a.m. June 3 that a bomb would go off when the bell rang. A canine search turned up no explosives and class resumed.

Harassing phone calls

A Morgan Hill woman has been receiving threatening phone calls since March from an unknown caller who has threatened to blow up her home.

Theft by credit card

Several purchases were made on a San Martin woman's credit card including two "Girls Gone Wild" DVDs, two purchases at AOL and an attempted purchase at Yahoo, between 7 a.m. May 10 and 5 p.m. May 29. She has since closed her account.

Petty theft

License plates were stolen from a 1984 blue Chevrolet truck on the 13800 block of Center Avenue in San Martin between 1 p.m. April 28, 2004 and 1 p.m. April 23. The victim did not report the incident until he needed new plates from the Department of Motor Vehicles.

A license plate was stolen from a trailer, between 11 p.m. May 18 and 5 a.m. May 19, near Kern Avenue and Vickery.

Commercial burglary

Two cash registers containing about $2,000 in cash plus credit card receipts were stolen, between 5:15 p.m. May 23 and 9 a.m. May 24, near Half Road and Elm Avenue in Morgan Hill.
