Road crews striping county roads last week painted a double yellow line over a dead raccoon, according to residents.
Local residents Karen Shaw and Tucker Stanwood spotted the painted-over dead animal Thursday, a day after the road was painted, Shaw and Stanwood said. The dead raccoon was in the center of Watsonville Road near its intersection with Burchell Road.
Calls to the Santa Clara County Department of Roads and Airports early Monday morning were not returned.
