Caltrans District 4 has announced the opening this Saturday of truck climbing lanes on eastbound Highway 152 between San Felipe Road and Highway 156.

The truck-climbing lanes are located less than a mile from the Valley Transportation Authority project at the Highways 152/156 interchange, according to a press release from Caltrans. The construction lasted almost a year and cost $11 million, and will increase the safety for travelers in that area, the state agency touts.

The Highway 152 corridor is a major east-west connection and a route of many travelers, trucks and residents as a connection to Interstate 5 and Highway 101.

The 152/156 Bypass Project is set to open this fall, according to the release. It will provide turn lanes and an overpass at the intersection that has caused congestion for years, according to Caltrans.

For more information about the Highway 152 truck-climbing lanes, call Benjamin DeLanty at 510-286-5705 or 510-714-6632.
