District reveals list of teachers laid off
Apr 22, 2008
 By Dispatch Staff

On March 13, the Gilroy Unified School District sent out letters to about 50 employees informing them that their services "will no longer be required for the 2008-09 school year" as the district looks at ways to close the budget deficit.

In the end, using a set of "tie-breaking" criteria, the district narrowed its cut list to 20 employees, listed below. Should funds become available, some of these employees could be hired back on.

Also: read a story about the way the district delivered the layoffs and how they decided between employees.
