Gilroy Gardens Family Theme Park announced today that President and Chairman of the Board of Directors, Bob Kraemer has informed the park of his resignation for personal reasons. In addition to the resignation of Mr. Kraemer, founder Michael Bonfante has also resigned stating he has "fulfilled his dream of building a theme park and it is time to retire and go onto other dreams."

Both Kraemer and Bonfante said they will continue to be available to the board to answer questions or provide input should the need arise.

Joel Goldsmith, who will assume the role of chairman, speaking on behalf of the board, thanked Kraemer for his years of service and thanked Bonfante for allowing residents to be part of his dream.

"The board will continue to carry on the parks mission to educate and inspire families, especially children, to appreciate horticulture and the importance of trees in our lives by providing fun and memories in a beautiful garden setting, the mission that Michael and Bob have carried out since the Parks opening in 2001," Goldsmith said.

Joining the board will be Greg Edgar, who has been assisting the board for the past two years, and Jay Baksa, former city administrator for the city of Gilroy.

Gilroy Gardens Family Theme Park is located at 3050 Hecker Pass Highway.

Gilroy Gardens, Inc. is a nonprofit organization managed by Cedar Fair Entertainment Company, a publicly traded partnership headquartered in Sandusky, Ohio. Gilroy Gardens is California's only horticultural theme park featuring more than 40 family attractions including six majestic gardens, educational exhibits, rides and the world famous Circus Trees.
