Elizabeth Ann Marotta and Alan Franklin Millar are engaged to marry Sept. 20, 2008.
Elizabeth is the daughter of Ralph and Penny Marotta of Surprise, Ariz., and formerly resided in Hollister. She is a 1999 graduate of San Benito High School and received a degree in film studies from UC Santa Barbara in 2003. She currently works in marketing for an educational publishing company in Santa Barbara.
Alan is the son of William and Carol Millar of Hollister. He is a 1997 graduate of San Benito High School and is employed as a database administrator for a software company in Santa Barbara.
The couple will wed Sept. 20, 2008 on the beach in Santa Barbara.
Powell/Azevedo
Bianca Azevedo and Justin Powell are engaged to marry in August.
Bianca is the daughter of Abel and Sonia Azevedo of Santa Clara. She is a 2002 graduate of Santa Clara High School and a 2006 graduate of Santa Clara University. Bianca is a senior internal auditor for a hi-tech manufacturing company in San Jose.
Justin is the son of Steve and Debi Powell of Hollister. He is a 2001 graduate of San Benito High School and a 2005 graduate of Santa Clara University. Justin is a financial analyst for a large defense contractor in Santa Clara.
The couple is planning a late August wedding at Leal Vineyards in Hollister with family and close friends in attendance. They will take a two-week Mediterranean cruise for their honeymoon.

HONORS
Lisa Pampuch
DePaul University announced Lisa Michelle Pampuch of Morgan Hill graduated from DePaul University in Chicago last June with a bachelor's degree from the School for New Learning. DePaul University is the nation's largest Catholic university and offers programs, many nationally ranked, in the liberal arts and sciences, education, commerce, law, computer technology, music and theater.
Stacey Perrien
Stacey Perrien has graduated from the 49th Fire Academy at Butte-Glenn Community College in Chico.
Stacey, daughter of Don and Danette Perrien of Hollister, was the only female cadet out of a class of 37 firefighters who completed her certificates and EMT training as required. She is currently employed with the Cal Fire Tehama-Glenn Unit in Red Bluff.
ANNIVERSARIES
Blaschkes celebrate 40 years
Jim and Kathy Blaschke of Gilroy will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary Aug. 17. The couple will celebrate with a special trip to Pacific Grove, followed by a fall riverboat cruise to view the Castles along the Rhine and Danube rivers.
The Blaschkes married Aug. 17, 1968.
Dillons celebrate first anniversary
Dan and Holly Dillon will celebrated their first anniversary Sept. 15. Daniel, son of Jerry and Sue Dillon, grew up in Morgan Hill and graduated from Live Oak High in 1997. He works with Giacalone Electrical Services and is currently a foreman.
Holly, daughter of LeRoy and Terri McGraw, grew up in Vallejo and graduated from Jesse Bethel High in 2001, and Mills College in 2005. Holly will start her second year at CSU Monterey Bay.
Their wedding was held in Bodega Bay and they live in Hollister with their two min-pins, Taco and Ruby.
